What is the lasik eye surgery process?
Blade-free lasik eye surgery is an outpatient procedure done at Manrique Custom Vision in San Antonio, Tx. We offer complimentary VIP lasik consultations because not everyone is a candidate for lasik eye surgery. During your consultation you will meet with our doctor to discuss your best options for visual freedom, get all of your questions answered, and see if lasik eye surgery is the right option for you.
The Blade-free Lasik procedure is a two-step process. The first step in Z is to create a corneal flap, which is a doorway to the tissue that will be treated underneath.
Dr. Manrique creates an ultra-thin flap on the front of the eye with a Femtosecond Laser. The second step in the process is where Dr. Manrique will gently lift the flap and use the Allegretto Wave® Eye-Q Laser to reshape the cornea. The flap is then delicately repositioned and sealed, naturally healing itself within 24 hours.
How long does lasik eye surgery take?
The laser treatment lasts on the average between 10-15 seconds per eye. In all, your lasik eye surgery procedure takes less than a minute to do both eyes. You can expect to spend about two hours at Manrique Custom Vision the day of your surgery. Best of all, there really is no downtime and you are able to go back to work or get on with your life the following day.
